CAN 2025: Badredine Bouanani predicts the final showdown

In less than two months, the Africa Cup of Nations 2025 will kick off in Morocco. Badredine Bouanani is already calling the finalists and picking his side.

In a video making the rounds on social media, Algerian forward Badredine Bouanani, who plays for VfB Stuttgart, predicts that the next AFCON final will pit Morocco against Algeria: “An Algeria-Morocco final, we’ll give them a bit of a beating.” he declared.

The clip even shows Bouanani alongside his Maghreb teammates, including Moroccans Bilal El Khannouss and Ibrahim Salah. While the comment was made in a joking manner, it perfectly captures the fierce sporting rivalry between the two nations. Social media quickly seized on this playful jab, blending friendly banter with a splash of national pride.

Drawn in Group E with Burkina Faso, Equatorial Guinea and Sudan, Algeria knows there’s no room for error throughout the tournament.
