CAN 2025: Didier Deschamps sees three favorites
Didier Deschamps took on a much-anticipated task: naming his favorites for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. With the perspective of a world champion, the French coach made his pick... without actually picking anyone.
"Morocco, Egypt, and Cameroon all have what it takes to win. Quality and experience—they have it in abundance. I'm not going to choose just one, they all deserve their laurels," he stated,
acknowledging the depth of the African field.
His comments highlight one thing: the tournament has rarely seemed this wide open. Behind these three heavyweights, several other qualified nations are eager to shake up the established order.
