Rasheedat Ajibade played a pivotal role in securing Nigeria's place in the quarter-finals of the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations. She stands out with a remarkable statistic that no other player has reached.

According to Opta, the Paris Saint-Germain forward is the only player to have attempted more than 10 shots and created more than 10 chances during the group stage of this CAN held in Morocco.

Nigeria booked their quarter-final ticket by defeating Zambia (1-0) and Egypt (6-2), after suffering an opening setback against Malawi (2-3). By finishing second in Group C, they will face Cameroon, the leaders of Group D, in the quarter-finals of the tournament.

Two goals for Rasheedat Ajibade

The Mushin-born star netted twice, both from the penalty spot—once against Malawi and once against Egypt. She has already lifted the CAN trophy twice with Nigeria, in 2018 and 2024.

Voted best player at the previous CAN, she earned a two-year contract with Paris Saint-Germain after five impressive seasons at Atlético Madrid.

Rasheedat Ajibade and her teammates are determined to eliminate Cameroon this Sunday in the tournament's quarter-finals.

Ajibade is eyeing a third CAN title, as well as qualification for the next Women's World Cup, set to take place in Brazil in 2027.
