Cape Verde: Vozinha's World Cup jersey sold for a record price at auction

Even after Cape Verde's elimination from the World Cup, Vozinha remains in the spotlight. This time, the Cape Verdean goalkeeper made headlines off the pitch, as one of his jerseys was auctioned off for a record-breaking price.

The shirt worn by the keeper during the goalless draw (0-0) between Cape Verde and Saudi Arabia was sold for €11,116, or about 65,575 Brazilian reais, on the specialized platform MatchWornShirt.

A sale surpassing those of Alisson and Neuer

The jersey, signed by Vozinha, was purchased by a supporter based in the United States. The auction sparked major interest, attracting 59 bids from 16 countries, including Brazil.

The amount raised eclipsed previous records for goalkeeper shirts. Alisson, Liverpool's shot-stopper, saw his jersey sold for 59,044 reais, while Manuel Neuer, Germany's number one, reached 52,722 reais.

With this historic sale, Vozinha has now set a new record for goalkeepers on the platform and continues to write his own story—even away from the pitch.
