CDM 2026 - France: Paul Pogba breaks his silence on missing out

Left out of the French squad for the 2026 World Cup, Paul Pogba is not giving up hope of one day rejoining Les Bleus.

Absent from the 2026 World Cup with the French national team, Paul Pogba is watching the action unfold from the United States. Despite making his comeback to competitive football this season, the French midfielder was unable to convince Didier Deschamps to grant him a spot in the squad.

Still, the former world champion remains grounded in his outlook.

"For me, I've come a long way, so it's not as if I wasn't expecting this. What was missing was match fitness. It's more physical, especially when you've had a string of setbacks, even before the suspension. I need to feel good. Playing for France is a bonus. It's still my dream to wear this shirt. And you have to earn it," he told L’Équipe.

However, at 33, time is becoming a crucial factor. Nevertheless, Pogba continues to believe in a final comeback in the blue shirt—a goal that remains undiminished despite the challenges of recent years.
