Former Real Madrid player Wesley Sneijder has strongly criticized French international Eduardo Camavinga following his arguably avoidable sending-off, which played a major role in knocking the Madrid club out of the race for the UEFA Champions League title.
Sneijder harshly criticizes Camavinga after Real’s elimination
After the clash with Bayern Munich, Sneijder did not hide his anger at Camavinga’s behavior, calling his action “irresponsible” at such a critical moment in the match.
The Dutch legend stated: “Camavinga is stupid! You can’t make a mistake like that at this stage of the game. He put his team in a very tough spot and handed a clear advantage to the opponent.”
He added: “After the final whistle, the Real Madrid players should have gone straight to the dressing room and shown their anger towards him, because he is the reason for this disaster, instead of contesting the referee’s decisions.”
Real Madrid suffered a major blow with Camavinga’s sending-off in the closing minutes, which directly destabilized the team and allowed Bayern Munich to capitalize on their numerical superiority to secure qualification.
