Championship: QPR announce the signing of Tariq Lamptey

Queens Park Rangers have secured their latest signing. The London club has officially announced the arrival of Tariq Lamptey, 25, who joins on a free transfer after leaving Fiorentina.

The Ghanaian right-back, Lamptey, joins a Queens Park Rangers squad in the midst of ongoing rebuilding during the Championship season. He is among several new arrivals at Loftus Road this summer, alongside Calum Ward, Boy Kemper, and Pierce Charles, who joins on loan from Manchester City.

The details of the deal have not been disclosed. Trained at Chelsea and with experience at Brighton, the Ghana international, who has earned 11 caps—including two at the 2022 World Cup—brings both experience and pace to a project aiming to compete at the top end of the Championship.

“I’m really excited about this new opportunity. After speaking with the coach and Christian Nourry, I was immediately attracted to the project. The team has high ambitions this season, so I can’t wait to get started,” he said after signing.
