Chelsea is preparing a massive offer for Alessandro Bastoni!

Press reports, most notably from TeamTalk, have revealed that Chelsea s preparing a major offer to sign Inter Milan defender Alessandro Bastoni, amidst prior interest in the player from Barcelona and several other clubs.

Chelsea is certainly capable of paying whatever fee Inter demands for the young defender; however, given the club's massive recent spending—totaling €1 billion over the last three transfer windows—there will undoubtedly be careful calculations regarding the upcoming January market.

Defensive problems for Chelsea that need to be solved!

A year ago, they shipped 47 league goals – a figure nine greater than their own tally – and ended the campaign sitting 12th.

This time around, although their goal difference is in the black, they have already leaked 31 goals across 20 matches.

If there is one lesson the Boehly regime has taught us, it is that this issue will likely be addressed by splashing the cash – that is, stockpiling defenders until the leaks are plugged.
