Club World Cup 2025: Meriah makes a triumphant return with Espérance de Tunis

Tunisian international Yassine Meriah has made a winning comeback with his club Espérance de Tunis.

Having been sidelined from competition since last November due to a cruciate ligament injury, he made a brief appearance in the Tunisian Cup final before starting the match against Flamengo in the Club World Cup.

Despite his lack of match fitness, Meriah delivered a complete performance, impressing with his tactical awareness and ability to play the ball out cleanly from the back.

The Ariana-born defender received the highest Espérance rating (7) from the specialist site “sofascore”.

Yassine Meriah also cleared the ball five times, blocked one shot, and made two successful tackles. Additionally, he won five out of nine duels against Flamengo's players.
