Liam Delap could be on the move again. After joining Chelsea last summer, the English striker has now attracted the interest of Como, who are looking to bolster their attacking line ahead of a season that includes Champions League football.

Initial contact with Chelsea

According to Fabrizio Romano, Como have made inquiries with Chelsea about Liam Delap. The Italian club wants to find out whether a deal for the center-forward—one of their main transfer targets—is possible.

This interest comes after several Premier League clubs have shown their hand. Leeds United, Aston Villa, Fulham, and Everton have all been linked to the player in recent months. The relationship between Como and Chelsea could also smooth negotiations, as the two clubs already worked together on the transfer of Trevoh Chalobah.

Delap needs to bounce back

Chelsea signed Liam Delap from Ipswich Town in the summer of 2025. However, his debut season with the Blues was statistically challenging. The 23-year-old striker scored just 1 goal in 28 Premier League appearances, starting only 12 times. Nevertheless, he's still considered a player with significant potential, especially given his track record with England's youth teams.

Delap has 12 caps and 3 goals with England U21. He is under contract with Chelsea until June 2031, putting the London club in a strong position in negotiations. For Como, a loan move might be the most realistic option.
