Congo: Claude Le Roy appointed new head coach (official)
After being without a position since 2021 following his stint with Togo, Claude Le Roy has been officially named this Monday as the new head coach of the Congolese national team.
Le Roy had already managed the Congolese squad from 2013 to 2015. "The conference room at the Ministry of Sports hosted, late in the morning, the official signing ceremony of Claude Le Roy’s contract as expert sports consultant and national coach of the Red Devils," wrote the Congolese Football Federation on its social media channels.
The French tactician has been tasked with leading Congo to qualification for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations. Under his guidance, the Red Devils reached the quarterfinals of AFCON 2015, their best run in the competition since 1974.
