2026 World Cup – Côte d'Ivoire: Emerse Faé puts the Germans in their place
On Saturday night, Germany managed to come from behind against Côte d'Ivoire (2-1) during the second matchday of the 2026 World Cup. Emerse Faé spoke out after the game.
Irritated by the Germans' behavior following Wilfried Singo's injury in the second half, Emerse Faé lamented a "lack of fair play" during the post-match press conference.
"We look up to countries like this as examples to improve ourselves. I was a bit disappointed by the lack of fair play shown by this German team. We would have liked them to give the ball back to us. (...) Brown? I told him to stay humble. It's true, he had an excellent game and he's part of a very, very strong national team. But I don't think he should speak negatively about us just because the score was 1-1 and he wanted to win," the coach said.
