Deportivo de la Coruña: sporting director defends Aubameyang signing
Deportivo de la Coruña, freshly promoted to La Liga, announced just a few days ago, the arrival of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The Gabonese striker, now 37 years old, has signed a two-year contract with the Galician club. The signing has raised some doubts and criticism, particularly due to his advanced age. Speaking to the EFE agency, the club's sporting director Fernando Soriano addressed Aubameyang’s detractors.
"I've already said that we were looking for experienced players who could fill our gaps. I want to be clear: we didn't bring in Aubameyang just because of his name. Far from it. What we've seen from him has truly impressed us—his attitude, his hunger, his commitment, his defensive ability... He may be older, but physically you wouldn't know it. We're convinced he's going to give us exactly what we've been looking for," explained the club official.
