DRC: Afimico Pululu, a World Cup omission that sparks debate

Afimico Pululu's absence from DR Congo's final World Cup squad continues to fuel heated reactions among the Leopards' supporters. After a standout season with Jagiellonia Białystok, the Congolese striker will ultimately miss out on football's biggest stage.

With 46 appearances, 20 goals, and 8 assists across all competitions, Pululu was undeniably one of the driving forces behind the Polish club's campaign this season. Consistently clinical in front of goal and directly involved in a significant share of his team's scoring, the 26-year-old seemed to have done enough to earn his place in the Leopards' squad.

This omission is all the more surprising given that the forward has delivered solid performances for two consecutive seasons with Jagiellonia, rarely showing any dip in form. Many pundits believe his profile could have brought even more attacking options to Sébastien Desabre's squad.

Still waiting for his official debut with DR Congo, Afimico Pululu will have to be patient a little longer before he can hope to kick off his international adventure in Congolese colors.
