DRC: Shabani Nonda runs for FECOFA presidency

Shabani Nonda has set his sights on leading the Congolese Football Federation of the DRC.

Having hung up his boots, Shabani Nonda, the former DRC striker now aged 49, has just revealed that he has submitted his candidacy to become the next president of the Congolese federation.

"For me, this is a special day. I have come personally to submit my candidacy for the presidency of Congolese football. It's an opportunity for me to congratulate the President of the Republic for his personal involvement in our qualification for the World Cup after 52 years of absence. I also want to congratulate the coach and his staff, not forgetting our brave players who made the difference," he declared.
