Egyptian Al Ahly: three absentees for trip to Uganda
Al Ahly are preparing for their trip to Uganda to face Kitara FC next Saturday at Hoima City Stadium in the first leg of the second preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup (2026/27 season).
Three players will miss the trip to Uganda
The Egyptian club will have to do without Aqtay Abdallah, left out for technical reasons, Yasser Ibrahim, who is suspended, and Karim El Debes, who remains unavailable after suffering an injury.
Wael Gomaa, head of Al Ahly’s football sector, confirmed to *FilGoal* that Aqtai Abdallah would not be part of the squad for sporting reasons. Having joined from ENPPI, the player has made three league appearances as a substitute without scoring.
Yasser Ibrahim, meanwhile, will serve a two-match suspension imposed by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) after the match against Espérance de Tunis last season. Karim El Debes, for his part, continues his rehabilitation programme.
The first leg will be broadcast on On Sport, while the Al Ahly channel will exclusively televise the return leg in Egypt. The winner of this two-legged tie will qualify directly for the group stage.
Al Ahly will head into this fixture after their 2-0 victory over rivals Zamalek on the sixth matchday of the Egyptian league, determined to make a strong start to their continental campaign.
