England: Jude Bellingham's exceptional World Cup in numbers

Despite England's elimination before the final, Jude Bellingham delivered an outstanding 2026 World Cup campaign. Scoring seven goals, the Real Madrid player became the first Englishman in history to reach this tally in a single World Cup, and also the English player with the most goals in a single World Cup or European Championship finals.

The midfielder also made history by becoming the most prolific midfielder in a single World Cup edition—a record never before achieved in the competition.

Bellingham further distinguished himself with his dynamic dribbling. During this World Cup, he became only the second substitute in World Cup history to attempt at least five dribbles in a match and complete them all, following Argentina’s Claudio Caniggia against Cameroon in 1990.

His offensive run was built with a goal against Croatia, a goal and an assist against Panama, a brace against Mexico, another brace versus Norway, and a final goal in the third-place match against France—bringing his total to seven, a historic feat for an English player.
