Yanis Begraoui has forever etched his name in the history of Estoril Praia. By scoring against Famalicão on the opening day of Liga Portugal, the Moroccan striker brought his tally to 32 goals for the club, becoming its all-time leading scorer.

Yanis Begraoui finds the net and takes his place in the pantheon of Estoril Praia. He has now scored 32 goals for the club, sitting alone atop the scorers' leaderboard. This 32nd goal allows him to surpass Alejandro Marqués, who previously led the ranking with 31 goals. Begraoui reached this milestone in just 72 matches, compared to 117 appearances for the former Estoril forward. It's a record that highlights the Moroccan's efficiency since his arrival in Portugal in 2024.

An exceptional 2025-2026 season

Begraoui truly elevated his game last season. In 34 Liga Portugal matches, he found the net 20 times, finishing as the league's third top scorer behind Luis Suárez and Vangelis Pavlidis.

His start to 2026 was particularly memorable. In January, he bagged a hat-trick against Estrela da Amadora, then followed up with back-to-back braces against Vitória SC and Santa Clara. This hot streak earned him the Player of the Month award for January from the Portuguese Players' Union.

These performances solidified his status as Estoril's main attacking weapon and drew the attention of several European clubs.

Already among the legends

With 32 goals in 72 appearances, Begraoui now leads Alejandro Marqués (31 goals in 117 matches), Kléber (29 in 82), Roberto (27 in 55), and Léo Bonatini (24 in 52).

His average of 0.44 goals per match is a testament to his efficiency. Most importantly, the Moroccan striker still has plenty of time to widen the gap over his closest challengers.

After just the first matchday of the 2026-2027 season, Begraoui has already inscribed his name at the top of Estoril Praia's history. His new record could well grow in the coming weeks.
