European Golden Boot: Raphinha pulls clear, African attackers well represented in the top 10

Raphinha leads the ranking of the top scorers in Europe's major leagues after this weekend's matches. With 12 goals in just seven games, the Brazilian FC Barcelona forward already has a four-goal advantage over his nearest challenger, Vangelis Pavlidis.

The Brazilian is enjoying a particularly prolific start to the season. He scored two hat-tricks this week, first against Racing Santander in a 7-2 victory, then against Sevilla FC, who were beaten 3-1. His tally now stands at 12 goals in 555 minutes of play.

Behind him, Pavlidis remains in second place with eight goals in seven appearances for Benfica. The Greek forward failed to find the net in his team's 3-1 defeat to FC Porto, but remains the only player in the rankings with eight goals.

Orban and Salah neck and neck

Three players follow with seven goals. Gift Orban occupies third place after scoring for Amedspor against Besiktas (3-2). The Nigerian forward impressed with a long-range strike and has seven goals in six appearances.

Mohamed Salah is also part of this group. The Egyptian scored a hat-trick against Galatasaray and took his tally to seven goals in six matches. He is fourth in the rankings, ahead of Sergio Camello, Lamine Yamal and Kylian Mbappé, all of whom have seven goals.

Young Barcelona player Yamal found the net in the big win against Santander, while Mbappé had scored a few days earlier against Elche before failing to score in the Madrid derby, which they lost to Atlético.

Osimhen in the top 10 despite his absence

Victor Osimhen is in eighth place with six goals in just four matches. The Nigerian forward did not feature in Galatasaray's latest game due to an injury. His team suffered a heavy 4-0 defeat to Trabzonspor.

Donyell Malen and Vedat Muriqi complete the top 10, with six goals each. The Dutchman has played five matches, while the Kosovar forward scored four goals in Fenerbahçe's emphatic 8-0 victory over Eyüpspor.

The rankings published by Foot Mercato on September 21 therefore place two Nigerians, Gift Orban and Victor Osimhen, among the top 10 scorers in the European leagues concerned. Raphinha retains a clear lead at the top ahead of the international break.
