FC Barcelona: Fermin Lopez regrets Ronald Araujo's impending departure

Soon, Uruguayan international defender Ronald Araujo will sign for the Reds of Liverpool in England. Even before the move became official, Fermin Lopez spoke out about the player's loan.

Ronald Araujo is set to join Liverpool on loan. After making 24 appearances and scoring 3 goals in La Liga during the 2025-2026 season in the colors of FC Barcelona, the Uruguayan defender has left the Catalan squad to finalize his transfer. The departure of the center-back has saddened his teammate, Fermin Lopez.

"He came to say goodbye to us. It's a shame because he's one of our captains and I have a great relationship with him. He made this decision to keep progressing and I hope he'll return next season," reacted the Barça attacking midfielder.

For now, there's no guarantee that Ronald Araujo will return to FC Barcelona. In fact, Liverpool have negotiated a buy option.
