FC Barcelona: Lionel Messi denies rumors about his son Thiago

In recent hours, 2022 World Cup champion Lionel Messi has addressed a rumor concerning his son. The former FC Barcelona star has firmly denied it.

A finalist at the 2026 World Cup, Lionel Messi is a happy footballer and a devoted father. The Argentine international has three sons. The eldest, Thiago, plays at Inter Miami. Recently, rumors began circulating about the possibility of Messi’s son joining Barcelona’s famous La Masia academy.

But when asked directly, Lionel Messi answered "no". The former Paris Saint-Germain playmaker also took the opportunity to shed some light on his son’s playing style.

"He’s more thoughtful, more organized, more of a midfielder," the legend explained. At 13 years old, the young player won’t be joining Barcelona for now, as he continues his development in Florida.
