Morocco: FC Barcelona cancels its trip to Tangier

In the end, FC Barcelona will not be heading to Morocco. In a statement published this Thursday, the Catalan club confirmed the cancellation of their friendly against IRT Tangier. The match was initially set for August 15 in Tangier. This decision comes amid a particularly sensitive political climate, just days before the game was to take place.

"FC Barcelona announces that the first team's friendly in Tangier, initially scheduled for August 15, is cancelled. Given the current context and uncertainties, FC Barcelona considers it would be inappropriate to play this match," the statement read.

It should be noted that this decision is linked to recent events in Ceuta, a Spanish enclave in Morocco, which led the Blaugrana to call off their trip to Morocco.
