FC Barcelona: Flick and Fermín López bow to Yamal
On Tuesday evening in Turkey, Lamine Yamal was outstanding in the clash between FC Barcelona and Galatasaray.
After a quiet first half, Lamine Yamal took matters into his own hands as soon as he returned from the dressing room. The Spaniard led Barça to a 4-1 victory away to Galatasaray in the Champions League, providing two assists and producing several moments of outstanding quality. At the final whistle, he was rightly praised by his teammates.
“He is a friend and a great teammate. And he is also the best player in the world,” said Fermín López, who scored last night. “He didn’t score today, but he created chances for his teammates to score several goals. He is an incredible player,” Hansi Flick said in turn.
Yamal on cloud nine
Brilliant against Galatasaray, Lamine Yamal even showcased his technique in the build-up to Anthony Gordon’s goal. After producing a spectacular sequence featuring a rabona feint and short dribbles, the Spaniard reflected on the piece of inspiration that has been making the rounds on social media.

“How would I describe that dribble? I don’t know. I would say it was almost a rabona. The important thing is that it worked well for the assist to Gordon; it was effective. We knew it was a very difficult stadium, one of the toughest places to play. We talked about their pressing and their shouting in the dressing room. We are very happy with this victory,” Yamal said in the mixed zone.
