Bayern: Harry Kane takes aim at Michael Olise
On Tuesday evening, after Bayern's draw with Viking, Harry Kane felt the need to set his teammate Michael Olise straight.
The England international striker did not mince his words after Michael Olise was sent off. With Bayern seemingly on course for victory, the France international turned the match on its head by picking up two avoidable yellow cards. Booked for pulling Askildsen's shirt, Olise received a second warning after sending the ball into the face of the opposing captain, Zlatko Tripic.
The incident left his teammates down to ten men and allowed the Norwegians to come back and level the score (3-3). Speaking to Canal+ after the match, Harry Kane did not try to defend his teammate. “I didn’t see the foul for the first yellow card, but he threw the ball into the opponent’s face; it was a deserved yellow. It’s a big mistake,” said the England striker, visibly frustrated by the situation.
Olise suspended against Arsenal
Harry Kane also stressed the collective consequences of the incident: “It’s a blow for Michael, but also for the team. Everyone makes mistakes, but you have to move forward and prepare for the next match.” The sending-off also represents a genuine problem for Bayern as they approach an important Champions League fixture.
