Aleksandar Pavlović dreams of the Ballon d’Or
Interview
Aleksandar Pavlović has great ambitions. At 22, the Bayern Munich midfielder dreams of winning the Ballon d’Or one day. Rodri’s triumph in 2024 gives him hope, as he explained in an interview with Sport Bild.
Rodri, a role model for Pavlović
The Spanish defensive midfielder, now at FC Barcelona, won the Ballon d’Or in 2024 after a remarkable season with Manchester City and the Spanish national team. The achievement made an impression on Pavlović, who plays in a similar role:
It’s good to know that a defensive midfielder can win the Ballon d’Or. I’d be lying if I said it wouldn’t be my dream to win this award one day.
Having come through the Bayern academy, Pavlović has gradually established himself in the Munich club’s midfield. Under contract until 2029, he intends to continue his development and establish himself among Europe’s best midfielders for the long term.
A strong bond with Michael Olise
The young German also spoke about his relationship with Michael Olise, his Bayern teammate. Beyond the French winger’s technical qualities, Pavlović particularly appreciates his personality off the pitch:
Michael is completely different from the image he projects to the public. He’s a very cheerful and friendly person who laughs a lot with us. We get along very well and he’s a good friend. I like spending time with him and sharing the pitch.
For Pavlović, the priority will be to confirm his progress, establish himself at Bayern for the long term and contribute to collective success. The Ballon d’Or remains a distant goal, but the German midfielder now knows that a player in his position can also dream of the trophy.
