FC Barcelona: Hansi Flick sets conditions for future number 9
Faced with the impossibility of negotiating with Atlético Madrid for Julian Alvarez, FC Barcelona must now find a plan B for the number 9 position. Hansi Flick even has specific conditions for the lucky future candidate.
The German coach expects a new arrival. "I'm not worried about the number nine. I talk with Deco to strengthen the team," said Hansi Flick after his side's resounding win over Elche. The rumor mill is in full swing, with names like Lautaro Martinez (Inter), Nicolo Tresoldi (Bruges), Ayoze Pérez, and Georges Mikautadze (Villarreal) all reportedly on Barcelona's radar as alternatives to Julian Alvarez.
However, the former Bayern Munich boss is crystal clear on one point: there are conditions. In an article published earlier this week about Tresoldi, Sport reported that the German coach prefers an experienced striker with a solid track record, like Julian Alvarez or Lautaro Martinez. Flick wants a player who has already proven himself at the highest level, someone who brings guarantees and can perform from the get-go.

In another piece published this Tuesday, Sport revealed more details, explaining that the Barcelona manager doesn't want to sign a player just for the sake of it. The former German national team coach won't bring anyone in unless he's 100% sure of what they can contribute to the squad—even if that means signing no one at all. Hansi Flick believes there are already enough players capable of playing up front and that there's no urgent need to act.
