FC Barcelona: Rodri back in training, his return imminent

Rodri continues his integration with FC Barcelona. The 2026 World Cup's best player has, in fact, trained for the first time with the full squad, setting the stage for a debut that could come sooner than expected.

According to information from SPORT daily this Monday, Rodri participated in a full training session with the FC Barcelona squad for the first time. This marks an important milestone for the former Manchester City midfielder, who recently arrived at Camp Nou after minor back surgery that delayed his summer preparation.

Up until now, Rodri had been on an individualized program set by the Catalan technical staff, missing both the team's collective restart and Barça's first La Liga fixture. This full training session marks a significant step forward in his physical preparation.​

FC Barcelona's plan is now to give him his debut in the blaugrana shirt this Thursday, as they host Athletic Bilbao. Rodri, who declared himself ready to play at his official presentation, could therefore return to competitive action earlier than anticipated following his transfer.
