FC Nordsjælland is about to pull off the biggest transfer ever recorded by a Danish team with Caleb Yirenkyi’s move to Coventry City. At just 20 years old, the Ghanaian midfielder is set to help the Superligaen club reach a new milestone in their youth development and talent-valuation model.
According to Tipsbladet, the deal will bring FC Nordsjælland 27 million euros in guaranteed fees, with another 3 million euros possible in bonuses. This sum surpasses the previous record—which was also held by the club. In 2023, FCN sold Ernest Nuamah for 25 million euros guaranteed, with up to 5 million euros in additional bonuses.
With Caleb Yirenkyi, the Farum-based club further cements its reputation as a Scandinavian leader in youth player development. This transfer also marks the first ever transaction in Danish football history to exceed 200 million Danish kroner.
