France: Kylian Mbappé pays a heartfelt tribute to Didier Deschamps

Just hours before Didier Deschamps’ final match at the helm of the French national team, played this Saturday against England for third place at the 2026 World Cup, Kylian Mbappé shared a deeply moving message to him on social media.

The France captain made sure to thank the man who led Les Bleus for fourteen years, while expressing regret at not being able to give him a more glorious send-off.

“Today is your last dance. You, who have given us so much. We should have offered you a better ending, but we failed,” wrote Kylian Mbappé.

Mbappé then praised the immense legacy left by Deschamps, believing his accomplishments will be fully recognized with time.

“Finding the words to describe what you have brought over these 14 years is very difficult, so vital were you in the rebirth of this team. People haven’t always appreciated your greatness, but time and history will take care of that.”

The Real Madrid striker also thanked his coach for the trust he has shown him throughout his journey with the French national team.
