France: revolution in Ligue 1 broadcasting

This marks a major shift for fans of video highlights. Clips published by Ligue1+ on social media will no longer be taken down.

Last season, Ligue 1+ was forced to remove its goal video highlights shortly after posting them on social networksβ€”a rule that left many supporters baffled as they were deprived of highly sought-after content. That restriction will no longer apply this season.

This change is part of a broader overhaul of the channel's digital offering. The LFP has confirmed that near-live highlights will now be broadcast throughout each weekend on Ligue1+'s social media platforms, alongside additional editorial content, as part of its new broadcast strategy for the 2026-2027 season.

It's a major evolution as Ligue1+ becomes, for the first time since its launch, the exclusive broadcaster of all Ligue 1 matches, with all nine games per matchday now available on the platform.
