France team: Patrick Vieira opens up about Michael Olise
We saw it again in his first three matches under Zinédine Zidane. Michael Olise is becoming increasingly influential for France.
However, according to Senegal coach Patrick Vieira, the Bayern Munich winger does not have the makings of a dressing-room leader. The former coach of the French winger at Crystal Palace believes that Michael Olise's overly reserved temperament means he cannot claim such a role for the time being.

"Michael as captain or vice-captain? I would say no, because he does not spontaneously approach others. (...) Michael will not be a dressing-room leader or a vocal leader like Didier Deschamps, Laurent Blanc and Marcel Desailly were in our time. But in the same way as Zidane, he can absolutely be a guide on the pitch. He is introverted, but not shy. I saw him have discussions about the game with players such as Wilfried Zaha, Eberechi Eze and Jean-Philippe Mateta and express his convictions. He will not be afraid to express them. And because he is someone who understands football, that can be hugely valuable for his teammates," the new Senegal coach told L'Équipe, as reported by the newspaper.
