Friendly: Arsenal fall to Dortmund
Second setback for the English champions in this pre-season ahead of the Premier League kick-off.
After a win against Girona (4-1) and then a loss to Betis (1-3), Arsenal suffered another defeat, this time falling to Dortmund (2-3) on Sunday. The match was notably the final of the Emirates Cup.
The Gunners quickly found themselves trailing after goals from Inacio (7’) and Karetsas (29’), but Nwaneri pulled one back (54’). Almost immediately, Gadou restored Dortmund’s two-goal advantage (58’), and while Gyökeres narrowed the gap from the penalty spot (69’), Arsenal couldn’t find the equalizer.
Arsenal will continue their summer preparations with a match against Como on Wednesday before facing Manchester City in the Community Shield next Sunday.
