Friendly: Messi will not face Burkina Faso

The Stallions will face Argentina on October 3 in an international friendly at the Estadio Mâs Monumental in Buenos Aires. However, the legend may not play against Burkina Faso.

Without Messi?

Legend Lionel Messi, who has retired from international football, has already been called up during this international break. However, he is not expected to join the camp until Sunday, after the match against Bolivia and the one scheduled against Burkina Faso. Argentina have decided to keep the No. 10 shirt against Bolivia on Wednesday, then against Burkina Faso on Saturday, before Lionel Messi’s final match against Benin on Tuesday.

Scaloni leaves the door open

Lionel Messi can nevertheless play, if he wants to, against Burkina Faso, according to Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni: “Lionel Messi is expected to join the camp on Sunday after the match against Burkina Faso, but if he also wants to play on October 3 against Burkina Faso, there is no problem,” the Albiceleste coach said. Burkina Faso fans can still hope to see “the Flea” at the Monumental.
