Tottenham Hotspur are on the verge of finalizing a spectacular £60 million deal for Egyptian forward Omar Marmoush from Manchester City, a move that will push the club's unprecedented summer spending spree dangerously close to the £400 million mark.

The £145M Manchester City double raid

The sensational agreement for Marmoush comes just hours after Tottenham officially announced the capture of his Manchester City teammate, Savinho.

The Brazilian winger arrived in the capital for an initial £75 million fee, which could eventually rise to £85 million through performance-related add-ons.

Combining the two blockbuster deals, Spurs have committed an eye-watering £145 million to Manchester City alone in this window, completely reshaping their frontline with two of the Premier League's most dynamic attackers.

Shattering transfer records

According to British outlet The Telegraph, the impending official confirmation of the Marmoush transfer will elevate Tottenham's total summer expenditure to over £380 million placing the £400 million barrier well within sight.

This financial flex represents a historic shift in strategy for the historically cautious London club. Before raiding the Etihad, the Spurs hierarchy had already authorized three massive domestic transfers to reinforce the core of the squad:

  • Sandro Tonali: A blockbuster £92 million acquisition from Newcastle United
  • Matheus Fernandes: An £85 million statement signing from London rivals West Ham United
  • Jan Paul van Hecke: Brought in to solidify the defense for £51 million from Brighton & Hove Albion
