After netting a brace to rescue Galatasaray against newly-promoted Corum, including a crucial goal in the 90th minute, Victor Osimhen immediately shot to the top of the Turkish Super Lig scoring charts. But post-match, all the questions revolved around Arsenal. The Nigerian striker opted for caution.

"I don't know what will happen next"

When pressed about speculation sending him to North London, Osimhen played the diplomat. “I’m focused solely on my job. These kinds of things happen during the transfer window, and I don’t know what will happen next. I’m here, focused on my work, and when the time comes, we’ll see and think about what’s next.”

Without shutting the door, he didn’t give a clear answer. Some media outlets claim that Arsenal have already made contact with Galatasaray to inquire about the terms of a possible transfer.

Massive investment, star-level stats

Galatasaray splashed out €75 million to secure his permanent signature in July 2025. He’s under contract until 2029. Since his arrival from Napoli in 2024, Victor Osimhen has delivered: 37 goals and 7 assists in his first season, then 22 goals and 6 assists last season. And he’s off to a flying start again with an opening-day double. With 52 caps and 35 goals for Nigeria, Osimhen is also one of the Super Eagles’ leaders.

For now, Galatasaray are holding on to their savior as they aim to conquer the league and shine in Europe. But if Arsenal turn up the heat, this transfer saga could become one of the biggest stories before the window slams shut.
