A heavy blow for the German national team. Young international Lennart Karl suffered an injury during the final training session before the friendly match against the United States.

The concern is so great that head coach Julian Nagelsmann did not hide his pessimism after the session:

"It doesn't look good."

According to reports from several media outlets present with Die Mannschaft, a withdrawal from the FIFA World Cup 2026 cannot be ruled out at this stage.

The player was immediately taken to hospital for extensive tests, including an MRI scan, to determine the exact nature of his injury. Nagelsmann stated that the German federation is awaiting the medical results before deciding whether he will be fit to compete in the tournament or if a replacement will need to be called up.

This injury comes just days before Germany's World Cup opener and could be a serious blow to Die Mannschaft's ambitions if the player's unavailability is confirmed.
