Ghana and Morocco will face each other in a friendly on Sunday 4 October 2026 at the Grand Stade de Tanger. The match will take place after the first two rounds of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, in which the two national teams will participate in different groups.

Ghana and Morocco will meet in Tangier. The two national teams will face each other on 4 October 2026 in an international friendly, with kick-off scheduled for 19:00 Moroccan time. The fixture will take place during the same international window as the first two rounds of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. Ghana are in Group C, alongside Côte d’Ivoire, Gambia and Somalia. Morocco are in Group A, alongside Gabon, Niger and Lesotho.

The Black Stars will begin their qualifying campaign on 24 September against Côte d’Ivoire. They will then face Gambia in their second match of the international window. Ghana will therefore have to manage two competitive fixtures before travelling to Tangier to face Morocco.

Morocco begin against Gabon

The Atlas Lions will also launch their campaign at home. Morocco will host Gabon on 25 September, before travelling to South Africa four days later to face Lesotho in Bloemfontein.

The match against Ghana will then complete Morocco’s programme for this international window. It will notably give Mohamed Ouahbi the opportunity to continue his work with his first squad since being appointed head coach of the national team.

Ghana and Morocco know each other well. The two national teams have already faced each other several times, notably at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, held in Cameroon in January 2022. Morocco won 1-0 against the Black Stars on that occasion.
