Gibraltar reached a turning point in its young international journey by securing the biggest victory in its history since joining UEFA and FIFA. On the pitch at Europa Point Stadium, the Gibraltarian side dominated the British Virgin Islands with a resounding 4-0 win in a flawlessly controlled friendly.

Young talent James Scanlon, a product of Manchester United’s academy, was the star of the night, netting a brace and confirming his status as the latest sensation in local football. Leon Mason also got in on the action by finding the back of the net, while an own goal added to the visitors’ misery.

The match was also charged with emotion: it marked the final appearance of local legend Lee Casciaro. In his farewell game, he delivered an assist for Scanlon’s second goal, bringing his international career to a close to a standing ovation from the crowd.
