Genoa are closing in on a deal for Ivorian attacking midfielder Hamed Traoré, with the Italian side having reached a full agreement with Olympique de Marseille over his departure. His switch to Serie A now appears all but certain.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the two clubs have settled on an initial loan arrangement that includes a purchase option set at €8 million. That structure gives Genoa the chance to assess Traoré's fit over the course of the season before committing to a permanent move.

Having previously featured for Sassuolo and Napoli, Traoré is no stranger to Italian football, having made a positive impression during his earlier stints in the peninsula. This fresh opportunity could provide him with the regular minutes he has been seeking.
