"I really like his style of play" .. Cardoso picks his favourite Al Ahly player

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Miguel Cardoso discussed a potential move to Al Ahly while reaffirming his respect for the Egyptian club and his commitment to the South African side.

Speaking to the “Modern Sport” channel, the Portuguese coach acknowledged that managing Al Ahly would be a great honour, but stressed that he was still contractually tied to Sundowns.

Cardoso also discussed the CAF Champions League, stressing the difficulty of the competition and the importance of respecting every opponent.

“The CAF Champions League is a difficult competition because it features fiercely contested matches. We will respect all our opponents in this competition,” he said.

Asked to name the Egyptian player he would like to see join Mamelodi Sundowns, Cardoso singled out Imam Ashour, the Al Ahly midfielder whose qualities he particularly admires.

“Of course, many Egyptian players are of a high quality, but we currently have no room to recruit more players,” he explained.

He added: "I really like Imam Ashour. He is a player with great qualities, who works hard on the pitch and shows excellent ability wherever he plays."
