Ibrahima Konaté set to join Real Madrid

With his contract at Liverpool coming to an end, Ibrahima Konaté is edging ever closer to an exit. The French defender has reportedly already chosen his next destination—and it leads straight to one of the world’s biggest clubs.

After failing to reach an agreement with Liverpool over a contract extension, French center-back Ibrahima Konaté is expected to leave the Reds on a free transfer this summer. His next move already seems to be taking shape, and, according to multiple European sources—both French and Spanish—there is little doubt that the French international is closing in on a switch to Real Madrid.

These same sources say Konaté has been swayed by the project presented by Florentino Pérez.
