"I'll answer the call"... a dual-national makes a pitch to Petkovic

Dual-national goalkeeper Rayane Yesli has made a direct appeal to the coach of the “Fennecs”, Swiss tactician Vladimir Petkovic.

Born in Canada to Algerian parents, Yesli is eligible to play for both the Canucks and the “Greens”.

In an interview with the Algerian daily “En-Nasr”, he voiced his readiness to represent the Algerian national team on the international stage.

If coach Vladimir Petkovic decides to call me up, I will answer the call and give everything to be up to the challenge. I feel ready to play for the national team, and I hope to join my friend Farsi on the squad as soon as possible.

Rayane Yesli's season by the numbers

Trained at the Impact Montreal academy, he joined HFX Wanderers during the last winter transfer window. In 12 appearances this season, he has played 12 matches, conceding 15 goals and recording 4 clean sheets.
