According to Egyptian outlet FilGoal, negotiations are taking place in a positive atmosphere and a final agreement to end the collaboration could be reached in the coming days.
As part of this separation, the Danish manager is expected to receive compensation equivalent to three months’ salary, in addition to his June wages.
A source within Al Ahly told FilGoal: “The club believes its legal position is solid and that it has the right to terminate Jess Thorup’s contract on June 30, paying him three months’ salary as compensation, without waiting for the start of the next season.”
The same source added: “There are currently two options on the table: wait until June 30 to enforce the compensation clause, or reach an amicable agreement with the coach in the coming days.”
Finally, the source clarified: “Al Ahly will not reveal the identity of its next head coach until the Jess Thorup case is fully resolved.”
