Manchester City manager Enzo Maresca offered a reassuring update on the condition of Egyptian international Omar Marmoush after he picked up an injury during the 0-3 defeat to Arsenal on Sunday night.

The match, played as the Community Shield final, saw Arsenal lift the trophy for the 18th time in their history, thanks to goals from Riccardo Calafiori, Kai Havertz, and Martin Ødegaard.

Omar Marmoush started the match on the bench before coming on in the 53rd minute, as decided by Manchester City's coaching staff.

The Egyptian forward was then injured in the closing moments of the match. In the 91st minute, he went down after a challenge with Cristhian Mosquera and called for the medical team to receive initial treatment.

Asked after the game about Marmoush's condition, Enzo Maresca was reassuring and simply stated: "He looks okay."

Manchester City now hope that the Egyptian international's injury is not serious. Medical tests will determine the exact nature of his injury and whether he will be available for the upcoming Premier League opener against Bournemouth.
