As reported by several sources, including La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter Milan and their current sporting director, Dario Baccin, have met with Arturo Canales to discuss the future of Federico Dimarco.

The Italian full-back has one year remaining on his contract with Inter Milan; despite currently earning an annual salary of €7.5 million, it appears the club's management wishes to extend his deal for a significant period.

A Milan native and a true Inter man through and through, Dimarco played a starring role in the Nerazzurri's Serie A title triumph last season, setting up a record 18 goals. He is presently recovering from a sprain to his left knee, which kept him out of the trip to Madrid. A return against Udinese on Monday also looks unlikely, with Inter instead aiming to have him fully fit for next Saturday's visit to Roma.
