Italy continues its search for a new head coach following the appointment of Paolo Maldini as technical director, with Leonardo joining as an advisor.

Roberto Mancini remains the frontrunner to take charge of the Azzurri. Andrea Pirlo is also among the candidates being considered and is seen as a credible option by the Italian Football Federation.

Guardiola ruled out, Conte, Pioli, and Motta drift further away

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, no approach has been made for Pep Guardiola. The chances of Antonio Conte, Stefano Pioli, and Thiago Motta taking the helm are considered very slim.

It is worth noting that Paolo Maldini had already wanted to appoint Andrea Pirlo as AC Milan's head coach before his departure from the club.
