Italy: Samuel Wiafe joins Genoa until 2030
Samuel Wiafe continues his rise in Italian football. The Ghanaian-born midfielder has officially signed with Genoa, penning a contract that runs until June 2030. The Serie A club paid around €2.5 million to secure the young talent from Modena.
Samuel Wiafe is stepping up to a new level. The 18-year-old Ghanaian leaves Italy's second division behind for Serie A, signing a four-year deal with Genoa after catching the eye at Modena. Wiafe made a name for himself with Modena after coming through the ranks at Vis Youth. In the 2025-2026 season, he found the net seven times and provided four assists in 21 games with the Primavera squad before making his Serie B debut, where he tallied nine appearances and one assist for the first team.
Currently representing Italy at the U19 European Championship, he will join Genoa after the tournament. “Joining Serie A is a dream come true,” said the ambitious young midfielder, determined to keep progressing at the highest level.
