Julian Alvarez: Barça unfazed by Atlético Madrid's complaint
Weeks ago, Atlético Madrid filed a formal complaint against FC Barcelona over the case involving Argentine striker Julian Alvarez.
Following Atlético Madrid’s complaint at the end of June, the Spanish Football Federation officially opened a disciplinary procedure on Thursday regarding Barça’s actions in the Julian Alvarez affair. The Colchoneros accuse the Catalan club of negotiating with the Argentine behind their backs. In addition, they claim Barça pressured him to publicly declare his desire to leave, which violates FIFA’s transfer regulations.
However, according to Mundo Deportivo, FC Barcelona remains unfazed, convinced they won’t face any sanctions. The Catalans insist that Atlético Madrid lacks any concrete evidence of talks between Alvarez and the European champions. Likewise, the reigning Spanish champions maintain they acted fully within the rules, submitting a formal offer to Atlético for their star player.
