Kaizer Chiefs: Fernando Da Cruz appointed head coach

South African giants Kaizer Chiefs have found their new manager in Fernando Da Cruz. The French tactician has signed a two-year deal with the Amakhosi, with an option for a further season.

Fernando Da Cruz takes the reins at Kaizer Chiefs, one of the most storied clubs in South African football. The former AS FAR coach will arrive with four members of his technical staff. In addition, two or three South African coaches are expected to join his team to bolster the professional squad's backroom setup.

Kaizer Chiefs move on from Ramovic

The club's leadership made their decision after the pursuit of Sead Ramovic fell through. The former TS Galaxy coach was unable to resolve his contractual situation with CR Belouizdad, prompting Kaizer Chiefs to turn definitively to Fernando Da Cruz.

The Frenchman had been one of the leading candidates for the role for several weeks, alongside Portuguese coach Alexandre Dos Santos. After extensive discussions, the club ultimately appointed the former Lille boss.

Before joining Kaizer Chiefs, Fernando Da Cruz served as a technical advisor with the Royal Moroccan Football Federation. He had previously worked alongside Nasreddine Nabi during his tenure at AS FAR.
