Yan Diomandé put in an impressive performance for Real Madrid against Sevilla FC. The Ivorian winger played a part in Madrid’s 4-1 win on Sunday, October 18, scoring a goal and providing an assist. The performance confirms his growing influence since joining the Santiago-Bernabéu side.

Real Madrid dominated Sevilla FC on the ninth matchday of La Liga. Arda Güler opened the scoring in the 30th minute before Kylian Mbappé extended the lead. The French striker then scored a second goal to make it 3-0.

Sevilla pulled one back through Manu Bueno in the 80th minute. Yan Diomandé eventually scored Madrid’s fourth goal in the 82nd minute, sealing José Mourinho’s side’s victory.

Yan Diomandé confirms his potential

At 19, the Ivory Coast international continues to adapt to life at Real Madrid. Signed from RB Leipzig in the summer of 2026, he committed to the Spanish club until June 2033.

Before this match, Diomandé had already scored against Villarreal on October 10. His goal gave Madrid victory on the eighth matchday of the league season.

Against Sevilla, the winger once again delivered. His late goal allowed Real Madrid to finish the match three goals ahead. His attacking contribution confirms his growing importance within the Madrid squad.

The performance also came in a favorable context. The absence of suspended player Vinícius Júnior gives him more opportunities to express himself in attack.

The young Ivorian will now have to maintain this level to establish himself permanently in Madrid’s starting XI. His attacking efficiency could influence José Mourinho’s decisions for the upcoming fixtures, particularly the Clasico against FC Barcelona.
